Responsible for overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control and deliverables for multiple consulting projects in the Legal and Automotive Research field, involving Mechanical and Human Factors Engineering, Statistical Analysis methods, and use of large automotive Databases; for ensuring consistency and rigorous quality assurance of all deliverables/reports, consistent with company commitments and client requirements; and for close coordination with the firm's Practice Coordinator and Principal Consultant. Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Assist Principal with the definition of project scope, goals and client deliverables

Education and Experience

  • 7+ years technical experience (especially in the Consulting field), and comfortable working with multiple "balls in the air," and able to manage complex technical consulting/research programs;
  • Experience with the requirements of Legal firms and the ability to create high quality deliverables;

JP Research, Inc. currently has an opening for a Research Scientist with strong analytical skills specializing in statistical analysis for automotive safety research and product liability. We are looking for a motivated individual with a Doctorate degree in applied math, statistics, mechanical engineering, physics or a related field. A minimum of three years of SAS programming experience are required, including a working knowledge of SAS Macro language. Proficiency with SQL and Excel is required as well. Applicants with work experience in automotive accident data analysis (FARS, NASS, other databases) will be given a priority consideration. Day to day duties will involve complex data queries, creating reports and summaries, building statistical models, assessing model quality and interpreting the results. SAS programming duties will also include but will not be limited to SAS macro code development and support of the existing SAS macro libraries. JP Research, Inc. is looking for a Statistical Analyst/Researcher with strong analytical skills who specializes in data analysis. We are looking for a self-motivated, high energy person with strong communication skills and ability to communicate statistical concepts to non-technical audiences. An ideal candidate will have a Master's Degree in Applied Statistics, Applied Math, Public Health or a related field. The candidate must have at least 2-3 years of R programming and some SAS programming experience, including working knowledge of SAS MACROs. Proficiency with SQL and Excel is highly desirable.

The candidate must be willing to work in a highly intense, fast-paced, multi-task, dynamic legal consulting environment. The position will provide significant opportunities, including publishing papers and making technical presentations to clients and federal agencies.

The candidate must have strong analytical, programming and problem-solving skills in the field of Statistics, Public Health, or Applied Mathematics. Must be an independent thinker.
